Coupe door latches ("locks") are NLA and labor-intensive

The driver's-side coupe door latch (technically a 'lock') wears out with use and is effectively impossible to buy new, differing from the sedan and between pre- and post-1996 cars. Replacing one means largely disassembling the door, a job owners quote at around eight hours and well over a thousand dollars in labor, on top of finding a good used part.
