US cars from 1974-1989 wore large 5-mph federal bumpers with shock brackets, while all Euro cars kept slim chrome bumpers; the community strongly prefers the Euro look and many US cars get retrofitted. Early US 1972-1973 cars carried small bumperettes closer to the Euro shape.
