The inline-sixes (M127 220SE, M129 250SE, M130 280SE) are respected as strong, durable engines, with the 250/280 units gaining a six-plunger injection pump and a seven-main-bearing crank. The Bosch mechanical injection with its long intake runners is a talking point, and owners note the six-cylinder cars pull hard when revved.
