Known 991 gremlins — cosmetic, not powertrain

Porsche 911 (991) · mechanical

The recurring 991 issues are non-powertrain: (1) door cards separate from the frame near the top because of environmentally-friendly glue Porsche was forced to use — older 991s (early 2012-2013) worst; (2) the brake light housed in the deployable rear spoiler fails because of a brittle plastic connector; (3) older 991 headlights are prone to cracking; (4) front lip spoilers are consumables — $275 from Suncoast, DIY in minutes ('about the only Porsche part that can be described as cheap'). 991 spark plugs rated 40k miles often last 60k+; brake fluid still needs the 2-year flush regardless of mileage (moisture wicking).
