Two age-related mechanical problems are nearly universal on G-series cars now: original fuel lines (especially those running between fuel tank and engine bay, accessible only with the engine out) are vulnerable to ethanol fuel formulations and should be assumed past their service life; and suspension bushings on most examples are degraded after 50 years. Both should be planned-for rather than discovered.
