E500 vs 500E: the 1994 facelift, brakes and rarity

The 1994 facelift renamed the car E500 and, per experts, is actually rarer than the earlier 500E while gaining larger front brakes (introduced very late in 1993 US production). Some purists prefer the 92-93 for character and claim the pre-facelift made more power before emissions changes, though all years share suspension and roll bars.
